help a sister out!!!!

OK, so I am asking a favor from all my wonderful, sweet, amazing, loyal blog readers. A fellow photographer is hosting a workshop and has one "free" seat up for grabs. The contest is very simple- the person with the most votes wins!!! So, if you could help this poor photog out {a.k.a. yours truly} and drop by Julie Parkers blog and vote for me. You may only vote once per computer but feel free to spread the word!!! There are three other "Brittneys" on the list, so make sure and vote for "BRITTNEY HALE". THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! www.julieparkerphotograpy.blogspot.com

round two... studio lighting

Morgan is always so gracious when Im in need of a beautiful face to photograph. I think we usually spend more time laughing and being silly than we do working and taking pictures and this time was no exception. I spent another afternoon trying out my "lighting skills" or my lack there of. Unfortunately, Ive come to the conclusion that a absolutely HATE the lights I currently have so, today I ordered me the fabulous set up that I used at my last workshop {rock that OCF}. I am hoping they will make this whole process much easier. But for now, here are some more head shots with my current "yucky" lights. Oh, and please disregard the awful, tacky, "tie-died" backdrop. Thats hitten the trash as soon as my new goodies arrive!

smoken!!!

Over the course of the last year and a half, I have focused the majority of my photography style on natural and existing light. But a couple months back I had the opportunity to attend a workshop by the fabulous Ali Hohn on off camera flash. Her style is so amazing and it has truly changed my thoughts on how I want my images to be captured. Several years ago I bought some studio lighting but never really knew what the heck to do with them. So with the help on Ali and tons of reading and study from online sources, I dusted off those old lights and put them to use. My SMOKEN HOT little sis and I, set up a make shift studio in my front room and put it all to the test. Thank heavens for my gorgeous family!!!

lost in the shuffle

Starting a new year has led me to do a little cleaning out, organizing and "dejunking". In the process I have come across a ton of amazing pics that I have not yet blogged. Many of which are from workshops and therefor have taken a back to seat to my clients images. So, over the course of the next couple days I hope to show off a bunch of these images but for now here is one...Enjoy!

a new year... a new start

This has been one crazy-busy month... but I have loved every minute of it. I have tried my best to spend countless hours with my kids and hubby lounging around, watching movies, building lego sets, playing in the snow, decorating for the holidays and just being a mom. I have successfully knocked out a few unfinished projects around the house, cleaned out numerous closets, tackled loads of laundry, and even started to decorate my home office! Although I still have a long ways to go, I feel like I am entering the new year with a handle on things (for the most part). With that being said, I have totally neglected my blog since minimal computer time was top on my list, so what time I did spend in front of my screen, I used editing a recent wedding, creating christmas cards and doing last minute orders for Christmas.
I hope you all enjoyed your holiday season as much as I did and may you all have the happiest of New Years!

And here is just a peak for Sarah & Jason.... stay tuned for more!
